You’ve never seen anything quite like the K&H Outdoor Kitty House. Its brilliant design and quality materials allow you to set it up in minutes yet it’s tough enough to withstand harsh weather. An optional heated pad and door flaps help protect kitties from cold winter weather and give them a place to feel secure. Depending on their size, this house can hold 1 to 2 cats comfortably.

Includes a small 14″ x 18″ Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Bed and 2 door flaps. Hook & loop material is sewn above the doors of the heated model to simplify flap installation.

The patented Lectro-Soft is the market’s only soft outdoor heated pet bed and is made of a water-resistant PVC material. It features thermostatic controls, a washable fleece cover, a 5.5-foot cord, and a MET safety listing.

Important Safeguards:

• Consult your veterinarian before use with young puppies/kittens, convalescent pets, during surgery/surgery recovery, or any animal that cannot voluntarily remove themselves from the heated pad.
• Do not place the pad in a confined area where the pet does not have the ability to remove themselves from the pad. Always allow your pet enough space to be able to choose if they want to rest on the pad or off the pad.

Cleaning Instructions:

Wash the faux fleece cover on the gentle cycle with cold water, then line dry.

The heated bed can be cleaned using a damp towel or sponge and mild dishwashing detergent. DO NOT wash in a washing machine.

To clean the house, wipe with a damp cloth.

You can test the Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Bed by placing a large pillow on top of it. After about 20 minutes, feel under the pillow. It will feel warm, not hot. DO NOT use an extension cord during this test. DO NOT place anything on the pad (other than the fleece cover provided) any other time. This should only be done during testing.

What is the difference between the unheated and heated versions?

The heated version includes the small 14″ x 18″ heated bed while the unheated version does not.

What are the walls made of?

The walls are made of 600 denier nylon with a vinyl backing that makes them waterproof and capable of withstanding snow.

How do the door flaps attach?

The door flaps adhere to the inside of the frame with hook & loop material. Cats can push their way through the door flaps easily since they’re not heavy.

How many adult cats fit inside?

This will depend on the size of your cats. The sleeping surface area for this product is 14″ x 18″.

What size are the door openings?

The door openings are 6″ wide by 8″ high.

What is the interior height of the Outdoor Kitty House?

The interior height is 15” at its highest point.

Can I purchase just the 20W heating pad that goes inside the Outdoor Heated Kitty House?

Yes, you can. You will want to purchase the small size Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Bed.

Can I buy the unheated house but place the K&H Extreme Weather Kitty Pad inside of it?

The Outdoor Kitty House is 18” wide and the Extreme Weather Kitty Pad is 18.5” wide, so it will not fit properly. We recommend using the small Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Bed since it is 18” wide and designed to fit this item perfectly.

Does the Outdoor Kitty House collapse if a cat jumps up on top of it?

This product is not meant to support a cat on top of its roof. We do not have a weight rating for the point at which the roof would collapse.

What temperature will an outdoor heated bed or pad reach?

K&H outdoor beds and pads are designed to warm to your pet’s normal body temperature of 102°F when he/she lies on the bed or pad. When your pet is not on the bed or pad, the heat will dissipate into the air and the surface temperature will vary according to the ambient air temperature.

Are your heated beds and pads pressure sensitive?

Beds and pads are NOT pressured sensitive. All K&H heated beds and pads feature dual thermostats and are designed to warm to your pet’s normal body temperature when he/she lies on the pad. This is a function of the insulation provided by a pet’s body, not the weight of the pet.

K&H beds and pads will emit heat anytime they are plugged in so your pet can sense that heat and be drawn to the bed or pad for warmth and comfort. When your pet is not on the pad, the heat will dissipate into the air and the surface temperature will vary according to the ambient air temperature.

How long is the cord?

The cord is 5.5 feet long.

Can I use an extension cord with this product?

MET requires that all manufacturers put the extension cord statement “Do not use with extension cord” on every item that is MET listed by UL 499 standards. This is because they cannot test every extension cord on the market in conjunction with products for safety. Also, MET suggests that an extension cord is not recommended as a permanent fixture and should only be a temporary solution when using any electrical product.

How long can a heated bed or pad be plugged in?

MET Safety Laboratories suggests unplugging the bed if you leave your home on an extended vacation, as they do with any electrical appliance. Otherwise, it is designed for 24/7 operation and you can leave it plugged in all day. This item has been certified by MET labs to adhere to strict electrical safety standards.

Is there an off/on switch?

There is not an off/on switch. The pad is always on when plugged in.

Is placing an additional blanket or towel on top of the heated bed or pad recommended?

You never want to place anything on top of a K&H outdoor bed or pad other than the cover provided. This cover allows the warmth to go through whereas a blanket or any other cover will trap the heat inside the bed or pad, possibly causing a malfunction.

Can you place an outdoor heated bed or pad on top of another pet bed or blanket for extra cushioning?

Outdoor heated pet beds and pads should be placed on a flat, stable surface rather than on top of a bed or blanket.

Are K&H outdoor heated beds and pads waterproof?

Outdoor heated beds and pads are water-resistant. We understand that pets collect snow and water from being outdoors. Products are designed to be used safely with pets, even when the pet is water-soaked.

Please make sure to place the bed or pad in a relatively dry area such as a covered porch, garage, kennel or dog house. The bed or pad should not be placed where there is a potential for standing water from heavy rain and the product should not be immersed in water.

Is it safe to use this without the cover?

Yes, you can use K&H outdoor heated beds and pads with or without the included cover.

For a garage, would you advise an indoor or outdoor heated product?

For a garage, we recommend an outdoor heated product. They have the features necessary to ensure your pet stays warm in even the coldest of temperatures.
